Fall/Winter 2008 - Key Trends
This fall,
you will be glad to know that some of the trends are revisiting us
from the past. They are accommodating pieces that
generally look good all type of figures.
The Color
Purple
Not the
movie, it's the hot color of Fall/Winter. Go for the
splash of plum with your skirts, tops, pants and even your shoes.
Don't wait for permission, it's in right now!
Oh yeah, and
don't forget purple accessories!

The oh-so feminine
blouse -
Remember the feminine
flowing blouses with with a ruffle collar and some that even tie in
the front? You will see them again this fall.
The need for tweed!

Tweed skirts and
tailored blazers are sure to make a show again this fall.
If you still have them, pull them out or see if they make the racks
at Restyle!
Wide leg trousers are
back...
.....and they are a
"must have" in almost any woman's wardrobe. If you were
discouraged by the dropping waistlines, have no fear, they are
inching back up and better than ever.

Belts, belts and more belts.........
You can pair them with almost anything. Have a
little fun and accessorize to your heart's
content! Don't be shy!
And,
ladies............don't forget to pick up a new hand bag!
They are
ALWAYS in!
Happy Shopping!
Tips for Petites
When
you are under 5'3", it's a challenge to maximize your fashion
potential when clothes can add pounds and you can easily become dwarfed
by your apparel. Here are some tips to help you dress
your best and maximize your fashion potential.
- Wear
monochromatic outfits that "don't chop you in half" with a color
change in your midsection. (not only
does it make you look taller, it makes you look thinner)
- Pair
slacks and jeans with heels (they don't have to be high heels) and
make sure the heels have a more pointed toe. Round-toed
and square-toed shoes do not elongate the line of clothes.
-
Ladies, if you are small, you want your jewelry in proportion to
your size. I spotted a petite fashion plate in a
local eatery who donned a great pair of jeans, cute t-shirt, awesome
bag and a HUGE turquoise necklace with matching HUGE earrings.
The appeal was lost to the distraction. Yes, sometimes less is
more....
-
Again, recite the mantra, "make your clothes work with you".
If you have a jacket or pants that are too long in length, don't
just ignore them and hope that one day they will fit. Own
your clothes and make sure you adjust the fit. Talk to
your tailor for recommendations on sleeve length and pants length.
Believe it or not, they know these things.
Consignment Stores 101
Here are a few tips to help you on
your way to becoming a savvy consignment store shopper.
DO
make a "girls'-day-out" of visiting several of the local resale
shops.
Get a feel for their inventory and pricing so you can catch the best
deals.
DO
look
for details that ma ke an item unique. The fashion
devil is in the details which can also make a simple outfit look
very expensive.
DON'T
put down a piece you love because the arms are too long or the pants
scrape the ground. When you are buying things at a
discount,
splurge on a seamstress to tailor your purchases.
A great pair of pants or shirt you will wear over and over is worth
it!
DO
visit your favorite resale shops often. Inventory
turns over quickly, so there are usually some good finds waiting for
you! Most shops discount their inventory regularly to move it
out. (RESTYLE does mark-downs weekly) Check out the SALE racks!
DON'T
forget - you too can make some
$$$$
by bringing in the clothes in your closet that "don't quite fit
right anymore."
DO
check the Restyle Austin website regularly. We will be
showcasing some of the choice pieces we have in the store and
surprising our web visitors with coupons so you can get more fashion
for your hard-earned money.
